Welcome to Rice Lake International Friendship Association (RLIFA), part of the Sister City International program started in 1957 by President Eisenhower. Our two Sister Cities are Miharu, Japan (since 1986) and Zamberk, Czech Republic (since 1993.) RLIFA is run entirely by volunteers, and has won several national awards for its programs. If you are interested in making friends with people in other countries--really getting to know them and building relationships--we hope that you join us.
The mission of the Rice Lake International Friendship Association (RLIFA) is to plan and carry out cultural, educational, historical, scientific, literary, and economic exchanges between people of the Rice Lake area and other countries. We believe that world peace is dependent upon goodwill and understanding among the people of the world.
RLIFA programs shall be designed to foster and promote mutual understanding and tolerance of cultural differences, demonstrate international goodwill, and establish friendships between the people of the Rice Lake area and the world. Membership in RLIFA is open to everyone with a sincere interest in our mission.
